Do I Need a Chiropractic Evaluation?

Chiropractic care is key to addressing many types of pain, from disc or back-related pain and sciatica discomfort to neck pain and headaches. Your chiropractor can expand your mobility and improve your overall health, in addition to eliminating pain.
Because our philosophy at Gain Wellness Center is based on partnership with our patients, we work with you to address your health concerns and institute a preventive approach to protect you from problems down the road.
Gain Wellness Center founder Dr. Mandeep Walia-Bhatia, along with is dedicated to treating the whole patient, not just symptoms as they appear. Our care incorporates your health: past, present, and future.
Determining the need for chiropractic care
We believe that many people aren’t aware of all the symptoms that chiropractic care can successfully treat. Although it’s often associated with the spine, discs, joints, and shoulders, other conditions that we successfully ease and eliminate include:
- Chronic headaches (often associated with muscle tightness) and migraines
- Pregnancy-related discomfort
- Muscle pain induced by stress
- Sports injuries
- Trauma from accidents
- Ongoing conditions like fibromyalgia
Your spine and musculoskeletal system are key to your good health. Seeing your chiropractor on a regular basis means that you can get true relief from these problems and more with a safe, noninvasive therapeutic modality.
If you’re plagued by pain and immobility, or even if you’re mystified by discomfort you can’t quite figure out, a chiropractic evaluation is a great first step to finding the root cause of your health problem and tackling it successfully.
What to expect from your chiropractic evaluation
Since we offer free consultations, you can learn a lot about what we do, and we can learn a lot about you, just from that first phone call. Armed with this knowledge, your doctor prepares for your chiropractic evaluation.
When you come for your evaluation, we ask you detailed questions about your health history that include descriptions of your pain and injury history, the health challenges you’re currently managing, your medical history, and health problems that run in your family.
We’re also interested to know about your work, diet, and how physically active you are. All of these factors contribute to your health profile and inform the treatment plan we develop.
During your evaluation, we discuss the information you’ve shared with us, and we carefully assess your muscle and spine strength and function as well as how your nervous system is performing.
Learning about your lifestyle is important because it gives us insight into your physical and emotional stresses, such as whether you sit for most of the day at a desk, travel frequently, or juggle the demands of caregiving and work on a daily basis.
Physical activities that are executed with improper form, a sedentary lifestyle, and a lack of high-quality rest all contribute to spinal problems. We aim to restore your wellness holistically, as opposed to sending you off with a handful of prescriptions.
Chiropractic care in the context of functional medicine
Since your physical and emotional health are absolutely interwoven, we may recommend allowing us to utilize several approaches that complement your chiropractic care:
- Nutritional counseling
- Recommendations on exercise
- Substituting unhealthy ways to cope with stress (smoking, excessive alcohol consumption) with healthy ones
We also offer regenerative treatments that harness your body’s own healing powers and trigger point injections.
Our functional medicine approach means that we look at your entire health “puzzle,” not just disconnected pieces of it, in order to find the origins of your health problems and bring you to optimal health.
Our functional medicine practice is so well-respected, Dr. Walia-Bhatia made many television appearances and kept great company with luminaries like motivational speaker Gary Guller and media icon Oprah Winfrey, to spread the word about holistic health.
We also schedule unique events that allow you to learn about our services and care in a relaxing environment. You can reserve a place at one of our educational dinner seminars and hear more about functional medicine while you enjoy a delicious and healthy meal. Please contact our office for information about when these events will resume.
